Greetings to all you vendors and shoppers who are eagerly anticipating the launch of the 2013 Waukesha Farmers’ Market!
Today marks just over four more days until the start of the 2013 Farmers’ Market in downtown Waukesha and things are all coming together nicely.
We have had lots of people working very hard collecting and processing vendor applications, strategically planning the layout of the vendor booths and creating detailed layout maps, and of course creating and developing our new website. We would like to take a moment to discuss these things further.
Vendor Applications & Accessibility
2013 has proven to be a great turnout for market vendors and we are happy to have everyone aboard for what will likely be an unprecedented season. With new management by the WDBA, we are proud to report that through experience and strategic planning, everyone who was interested in participating in this years market was able to easily download and timely submit their application.
Thank you to everyone involved for your patience in this new process for 2013 and the coming seasons.
Vendor Booths and Layout Maps
This season we have created and designed a whole different mapping system for the Waukesha Farmers’ Market.
One of the first things you may notice is that we have integrated a color scheme so each and every vendor has a color as well as a booth number. Each vendor has been given a sign which clearly depicts this information.
Each vendor will be required to have their vendor sign displayed in front of their booth. The vendor sign includes the vendor name, booth number and color so everyone can easily find and identify vendors.
In place of the black & white map used in prior years, this season we have integrated the color scheme and a satellite view of the market grounds into the background of the map. This should make the map more user-friendly for ease of finding vendors and navigating the market grounds.
Waukesha Farmers’ Market Website
This year we have began the season with a website which we hope will be a benefit to everyone.
Already the website has been a huge success for vendors in downloading applications, reviewing and downloading market rules and guidelines, and for checking their booth location(s) via the online map(s).
In addition to being of benefit to vendors, the website is essential for market visitors and others who are interested in seeing what the Waukesha Farmers’ Market has to offer. In addition to informational pages about the market, pictures, and contacting the Farmers’ Market staff, there are also pages for events and the stages that will be at this years market.
One of the unique things that the Waukesha Farmer’s Market website provides is individual pages for each vendor.
Vendors are broken down into five categories: Produce , Food , Hot Food , Flowers , Arts & Crafts , and Other. Each of those category pages lists the vendors and their booth number. When all the vendors pages are completed (this week), each vendors name can be clicked and you will be taken to that vendors personal page.
We hope everyone has a chance to come down to the 2013 Farmer’s Market in Waukesha. See you there!
